Is MetaHammer free?
Yes. Completely free, no ads, no subscriptions. It's a passion project for the hobby.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Everything saves locally on your device. No signup, no email, nothing leaves your phone.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once installed as a PWA it runs fully offline. Perfect for clubs and venues with bad Wi-Fi.
Which edition of Warhammer 40K does it support?
The score tracker (VP/CP, battle rounds, Battle Ready) is built around current edition rules. The probability calculator is edition-agnostic — it models any standard hit/wound/save sequence.
What about other game systems — Age of Sigmar, Kill Team?
The probability calculator works for any d6 hit/wound/save system. Bespoke trackers for other systems are on the wish list — let me know on Instagram if you'd use them.
How is my data stored?
Locally in your browser. Use the import/export controls in the app to back it up. Cloud sync is in the roadmap as an opt-in.
Is this affiliated with Games Workshop?
No. MetaHammer is an unofficial, fan-made companion tool. Games Workshop, Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 and all related logos and characters are trademarks of Games Workshop Ltd.
